I was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It was here that I completed my schooling and made the decision to join the United States Air Force. I completed seven years of service as a Telecommunication System Control Specialist. Upon my departure from service, I worked in the same career field as a civilian with a Fortune 500 Airline Company in Oklahoma for 10 years. After those 10 years, I relocated to the east coast and have made North Carolina my home state for 25+ years. In North Carolina, I began working as a Network Engineer for a Fortune 500 company for 19 years before transitioning to work remotely for a private company in Oklahoma City as the Lead Engineer of the Technical Assistance Center. It was during the last transition that I decided to begin taking photography seriously and seeing where it will lead me.
Don Feely Photography was founded in 2015 and recognized by the NC Secretary of State in 2017. I began my photography journey capturing landscapes and waterscapes during my travels. I slowly began connecting with seasoned portrait photographers and photography organizations which tremendously increased my knowledge of the craft. As a standing member of such organizations as PPA (Professional Photographers Association), PPNC (Professional Photographers of North Carolina), and IFPO (International Freelance Photographers Organization), I am able to continue collaborating with other professional photographers and continue to perfect my craft and individual style.
Over the last several years, I have worked with businesses such as The Town of Apex, Boy Scouts of America; Occoneechee Council, Robert Half International, Lisa Davis State Farm Insurance Company, Bella Casa Neighborhood, Whole Package Events and other clients in the Raleigh/Durham and surrounding areas. These experiences led to headshots, event photography, business portraits, and more. While capturing the life images that create memories for clients to cherish for years to come, I understand the importance of providing superior customer service as well. I look forward to working with you in the future.
In addition to photography, In my spare time, I enjoy cycling, exercising to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and listening to music and motivational speeches to stimulate the mind.I'm also an active member of my church and The 100BMTE organization.I’m also fortunate to be married to an incredible woman, my wife Sherry, and we have two wonderful children and five grandchildren.
